Windows browser (Edge) solution for School mode only

Prerequisites:


  • School mode created
  • Edge app added to the allowed category (Education, for example)
  • Allow some apps option is selected
  • Education category (example) is enabled


Steps:


  • Create Microsoft Family with parent (admin) and child (member).
  • Login by parent (admin) to Microsoft Family Safety on the web (Edge) or another app by using admin
  • credentials
  • Add child (member) to Microsoft Family Safety


  • Open child’s (member) card by tapping on the avatar icon or name



  • Open Edge tab



  • Move down to “Allowed sites” and add sites what you want to allow



  • Mode down to "Blocked sites" and add sites what you want to block



  • Reboot the device
  • Login using child credentials (Microsoft Family)
  • Open ScreenCoach app, login with valid credentials and select mode with allowed category (School
  • mode, from prerequisites)
  • Open any app except Edge browser
  • Pay attention app is blocked
  • Open Edge browser
  • Try to open blocked site - There is a parent permission required in the middle of the screen



  • Try to open allowed site - site is opened



Result:


  • Child has access only to Edge browser
  • Child has access only to allowed sites
  • Settings for blocking sites are flexible
