How to turn off/disable Apple Screen Time on iOS (ScreenTime conflicts)

Settings and restrictions in Apple Screen Time will conflict with ScreenCoach and will not let the app work properly.

So here are the steps to turn the options in Apple Screen Time off:

  1. Go to Settings (iOS settings) on parent device
  2. Tap on Family
  3. Tap on your child's profile
  4. Go to ScreenTime (See image below)
  5. Make sure no apps are set to Always Allowed
  6. Remove any Downtime settings
  7. Remove any App Limits
  8. Scroll down (the the very bottom) and tap on "Turn off App & Website Activity"

NOTE:

Due to a bug in the Apple Screen Time.

If you had any options enabled in steps 5-7 and you have turned off screen time before, then these options are still remembered/active in the background!

So you will need to re-enable Apple screen time then remove disable options 5-7 and then disable Apple Screen Time ( "Turn off App & Website Activity") again.

Turning off Apple Screen Time completely is optional. You can make the above changes, then Turn it off (scroll to the very bottom)

Note: If you are using any options inside Content & Privacy Restrictions inside Apple Screen Time (like Allow/Disallow downloading Apps, Allow/Disallow purchases, etc) - you can keep Apple Screen Time on, just make sure the above mentioned options are turned off.

See Image below

If you see this screen when you get into Screen Time under Settings, it means Screen Time is Off already. But, just in case, if you need to make any changes in Screen Time (like removing Always allowed apps etc), You can turn it on again, make the changes mentioned above.

To Set up Screen Time PIN:

PLEASE ENSURE that an Apple screen time PIN has been set up for the account to prevent children from modifying the Apple Screen Time settings.

Scroll to the bottom to see, if it says change the screen time passcode as per this image that means there is a PIN enabled if it says enable a Screen Time passcode that means one has not been set yet.

Please use a PIN that the child will not know.

Settings and restrictions on ScreenTime will conflict with ScreenCoach and will not let the app work properly.
