# How to Install ScreenCoach on macOS

**Here is how you can install ScreenCoach on a Mac Device:**

|| ✅ Step 1: Checking the Type of User on Mac

**O**n your Mac, if the user is going to be a child user, it is always recommended to have a separate **Standard user** created for the child, that is a non-administrator account. Administrator accounts/Adult accounts can give them elevated privileges which can help the child to bypass/kill or even uninstall ScreenCoach.

*For instructions on how to create a standard Mac user account for the child, please scroll to the bottom of this article.*

|| ✅ Step 2: Downloading & Installing ScreenCoach on Mac (**For first time installation on a device**)

**Download ScreenCoach for Mac** from: 👉 [https://www.myscreencoach.com/download/](https://www.myscreencoach.com/download/)

* **Double-click the downloaded `.dmg` file.** This will mount a drive and open a new window.
* In the window that opens, **drag the ScreenCoach app into the Applications folder**.

|| For reinstallation/updating ScreenCoach

* **If ScreenCoach is running, please quit that first** by switching to the **parent user account** > Click on the menu on the top right > Quit
* To quit from the **child user account**, you’ll need the **device QUIT PIN**, but this is **not usually recommended** unless absolutely necessary.

* **Double-click the downloaded `.dmg` file.** This will mount a drive and open a new window.
* In the window that opens, **drag the ScreenCoach app into the Applications folder** to rewrite the existing version with the new one.

1. Open the **ScreenCoach app** from the **Applications folder**.
