How to add an App manually to Block/Allow List on Android?

You can add Apps manually to Modes & App categories in ScreenCoach to allow/block, using their App IDs. This is helpful in few scenarios.

This step is only needed if you cannot see the application in the list of applications.

  1. Some Android devices (modified OS by the brands like Samsung, Huawei etc) - they may have their own launchers for Apps. ScreenCoach may block these launchers if they are not added to allow list.
  2. Sometimes, you may not find a particular App in the list of Apps inside a Mode in ScreenCoach.

Note: You can find this App ID on the block screen of ScreenCoach.

Here is an example scenario:

  1. ScreenCoach has blocked the weather app - and displays the block screen

  1. On the block screen, look for the App ID below - The app "Weather has been blocked

  1. The App ID here is - com.sec.android.daemonapp
  2. On your Parent Device - Open ScreenCoach - Go to Settings - Choose the Mode you want to add this app to - Go to Apps Tab - Choose Android
  3. Tap on the "+" icon on the top right - Enter a Name for this App (For example: Weather) - And enter the App ID we just got from the block screen - com.sec.android.daemonapp.
  4. Save and Apply.

Now the App is added to an App Category or mode . You can add this to a mode to Allow/Block.

Tip: To make this App as an Always allowed app, you may add this App to the Always Allowed section inside Settings of ScreenCoach
