How much is each token and gem actually worth?

You can decide how many minutes of screen time a Token is worth. To make it easy for the child, we recommend one minute per Token for Under 5’s, two minutes per Token for 5-8-year-olds, and 5 minutes per Token for 9+-year-olds.

It becomes a great way for your child to learn their times tables! The same with Gems - you can set it at 10c per Gem if you wish which is a great start for younger kids and you might like to increase it for older children.

We prefer not to use 1-1 so that when we are negotiating on doing tasks it is hidden behind the Token and Gems values. We feel it is better to say clean your room for five Tokens instead of clean your room for $.50.

To have a custom setup for no. of minutes per token,

1. On your Parent Dashboard, tap on the three dot menu of a child (found on the right side of the user card)
2. Tap on user settings
3. Scroll down to see "Minutes per token" field
4. Enter the number of minutes you want to set up per token
5. Click anywhere outside the field (it will auto-save).
