# Goals

### What are Goals?

Goals give children something meaningful to work towards using the Gems they earn from completing activities and building positive habits.
Parents can create **Goals** based on things their child values, and children can choose what they want to save their Gems towards.


### Goals don't have to cost money
|| Parents can create Goals for toys and treats, but they can also be experiences, privileges and special family activities. 

||| Letting children save their Gems towards something they really value helps teach goal-setting, saving and delayed gratification.

When you create a Goal, choose how many Gems are needed to achieve it and add an optional image.

We recommend creating a few Goals with different Gem values, giving children a choice between smaller Goals they can achieve quickly and bigger Goals they can save towards over time.
